Ray has a keen eye for detail. “I look for repeatable processes that can be centralized for the whole system. There’s less code to write and thus processes run more efficiently.” Ray’s meticulous approach has been a great fit in developing data management models that feed elegant dashboards for environmental indicator sites like the Tahoe Environmental Improvement Program.
Raised in the Philippines and Taiwan, Ray took his first computer class at his alma mater, Lewis & Clark College. After graduating with a B.S. in Computer Science and Mathematics, Ray developed web applications and database technologies for several companies before joining Sitka in March 2011. “I like working with these guys. That’s a big draw for life at Sitka.”
Ray, the reigning Sitka Open tennis champion, lives in southwest Portland with his wife and son. When dining out, they prefer Ox, Simpatica Dining Hall, and Boke Bowl. When staying in, he often gets pulled into listening to The Wiggles with his son.
