“When someone says problem, I hear opportunity,” says Warren. “Then I ask a lot of questions and listen.” That practice serves him well as Sitka’s most senior data analyst. Warren joined Sitka in 2011 after 13 years as a science information manager for The Nature Conservancy (TNC). There he developed software that enabled TNC teams worldwide to measure the effectiveness of conservation projects. Now he is a primary contributor on Sitka’s Miradi Share platform, where programs can better organize and aggregate the metrics generated by multitudes of disparate projects.
Warren earned his B.A. in History from Yale University and an MBA from Washington State University. Why Sitka? “I love the work and the enthusiasm of everyone who works here.”
“Gip” and his wife live on a three-acre farm outside of Hillsboro with their sheep and chickens. The commute to Portland is worth the drive, he explains, because he loves getting out for lunchtime runs on the downtown waterfront.
