On June 15th, we were both humbled and honored to host 15 people from eight different organizations for our first Conservation Manager Roundtable. Representatives from Puget Sound down to the Tahoe Basin shared their successes, challenges, and innovate solutions with the group.
We started the day with the goal of facilitating a dialogue that would provide value on common, pressing, and timely challenges. Key topics discussed were:
- Measuring success
- Making measures relevant to decision makers
- Open Standards for the practice of conservation
By the end of the day, I feel we achieved what we set out to accomplish. We learned a lot, commiserated a little, inspired each other, and laughed.
In hopes of benefiting the industry as a whole, we have produced a Key Findings Report that shares the high level conclusions from the day.
