Sitka and the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency Launch Online, Map-based Mooring Permitting and Registration System

The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) selected Sitka to develop a new mooring permitting and registration system that allows lakefront property owners, homeowners’ associations, and marinas to register and permit their existing buoys, boatlifts, and boat slips. By tracking and managing moorings, TRPA can make sure that regulations are being followed to preserve the natural beauty for which Lake Tahoe is so famous. Permitting and registration fees go to enforcement and shoreline restoration projects.

GeoOptix Featured at International Salmon Data Laboratory Workshop

This past month, Keith and I dusted off our passports and headed north to Vancouver, BC. We had been invited by the International Year of the Salmon, a project launched by the North Pacific Anadromous Fish Commission and the international North Atlantic Salmon Conservation Organization, to present our GeoOptix platform to workshop attendees.

Access the Key Findings from Our Second Conservation Manager Roundtable

This past July, we hosted our second Conservation Manager Roundtable in our Portland office. Our table was rounded by 18 representatives from 10 different natural areas organizations from across the west (California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington). While we had a few returnees in attendance, the majority of the participants were new faces for the event but certainly not new to conservation.
